Gender Health Centerís annual fundraiser, Gender Bender Ball, is back for our 9th year! The theme for this yearís gender bending party is Superheroes & Supervillains and we canít wait to see what level of creativity and debauchery our community turns out. This fun dance party will include a live DJ, raffle prizes, fire dancers, and a ball style runway pageant.

Gender Health Center is a transgender led empowerment and service organization. Central to our mission is dismantling societal gender expectation and shifting the narrative of transgender people in our communities by putting trans folks first in our direct service provision and leadership opportunities.

Despite a great deal of media coverage on TV and the internet about transgender people and our communities, the context of our lives as trans and non-binary folks is not being represented. This is why Gender Health Centerís programs, and events like this, that lift up trans voices and trans people into leadership, are so important to our community.

Team Prepster is a pageant designed to create fun and exciting challenges for people that want to try something different by spreading information and learning what people may or may not know about PrEP. Also to clear up any misconceptions about PrEP and what it may or may not do.

The Pageant will be a 5 part series where at end of five months Team Prepsters will show that they have learned team work and how they help Gender Health Center (GHC) in spreading the word to community and how it can impact the community in a positive way. The winners will also attend two monthly group meetings and assist in getting others to participate in PrEP.

The following categories will exercise the imagination of each individual and how PrEP applies to their daily life.

Presentation: The Gender Bender Ball has a theme of Superheroes and Supervillians. Come as either or but most of all we need to see your blue pill and where it is hidden.
Evening Gown: A red carpet look clean and elegant. Matching accessories nothing is ever matching in fashion so express yourself freely but keep in mind clean elegant and blue pill.
Sun hats, shades, nice fit look or swim wear on the beach ready for your model shoot, with your blue pill on hand.
Talent: Express yourself however you see fit. Make sure that your blue pill is visible so that we are aware that you didnít forget to take it. (8 mins)
Question and Answer: There will be a series of question surrounding PrEP and how it can be of use in your everyday life. You just have to answer one question surrounding PrEP.

The winners of each Team PrEP Champ month will be part of the following pageants doing one number in the pageant. They will also crown the next PrEP Champs. The winners may choose what pronouns they would like to be addressed as (Mr., Ms., or Mx. i.e. non binary). They will also work with GHC in getting information about PrEP out to the community.
